Deep in the sun-drenched forest, siblings Wei Bi and Mei Mei were enjoying a happy time. However, the melancholy Demon King suddenly appeared, forcibly taking Mei Mei away due to his loneliness, bringing her back to his gloomy Demon Palace. Although afraid, Wei Bi resolutely embarked on a journey to find his sister.
During the journey, Wei Bi demonstrated kindness and wisdom. He helped the lost Monkey collect scattered food and received correct guidance from Rainbow Beak. He also skillfully resolved the argument between Yellow Feather, Eagle, and Hong Hong about their performance content, teaching them communication and cooperation. Facing Goose who was afraid of water, Wei Bi and Elephant patiently collaborated, gently guiding Goose to overcome his fear. He further utilized his wisdom and worked together with his friends, using water to retrieve a trapped soccer ball from a tree hole. These experiences not only allowed him to make many friends, but also prompted his friends, upon learning of his predicament in searching for Mei Mei, to proactively offer help. Stork brought him to Dolphin, and Dolphin, after receiving a sparkling stone gifted by Stork, gladly carried Wei Bi across the bay.
Arriving at the foot of the tall mountain, Wei Bi mediated a dispute between Thinny and Bee over nectar in a flower bush, teaching them the efficiency and joy of cooperation, and allowing the innocent Snail, who was disturbed by the noise, to find peace.
Finally, Wei Bi broke into the Demon Palace and confronted the Demon King. He shared the lessons learned on his journey—about communication, cooperation, empathy, courage, and sincere treatment—explaining that the problem of 'loneliness' is not solved by 'power', and that true happiness and friendship come from genuine giving and connection. The Demon King was touched by Wei Bi's words and realized his mistake.
The story concludes with a joyful ending: the Demon King apologized for his actions, and Wei Bi and Mei Mei promised to visit the Demon Palace often. From then on, the Demon Palace was no longer gloomy, becoming a place for joyful gatherings for Wei Bi and all his friends. The Demon King also learned from this that true happiness comes from treating friends sincerely, not through coercion or possession.
Deep in the sun-drenched forest, stood a cozy little wooden house. The lively and cheerful siblings, Wei Bi and Mei Mei, were playing on the path in front of the house. Wei Bi was wearing a green T-shirt and overalls, and Mei Mei was in a pink checkered dress. Their cheerful laughter echoed through the forest, adding endless vitality to the area.
However, the tranquility was soon broken by a sudden shadow. The Demon King appeared! He had demon horns on his head, but an indescribable melancholy hung on his face.
"Your laughter makes me feel even lonelier," the Demon King said in a low voice, with a hint of self-pity. Without explanation, he stretched out his hands, released his magic, and captured Mei Mei. "I'm taking you back to my Demon Palace. You will be my playmate, and then I won't be lonely anymore!"
"Mei Mei!" Wei Bi cried out heartbrokenly, but the Demon King had already flown towards the distant high mountain with Mei Mei, leaving only a string of evil but sad laughter behind. Although Wei Bi was filled with fear, he looked at the distant towering peak, clenched his fists, and firmly promised, "Mei Mei, I will definitely find you!"
Wei Bi ventured alone into the deep forest. The sunlight filtered through the dense leaves, casting mottled light and shadows on the ground. However, he gradually lost his way, and a hint of anxiety rose in his heart. Just then, a commotion came from afar. Following the sound, he saw Monkey bent over, frantically picking up items scattered all over the ground, having been startled by a galloping Giant Antelope, causing all the food in the basket to roll out.
Seeing this, Wei Bi ignored his own worries about being lost and rushed forward. "Monkey, let me help you!" he shouted, immediately working with Monkey to collect the scattered apples, carrots, and colored balls back into the basket.
"Thank you, Wei Bi!" Monkey said gratefully. Seeing the sweat on Wei Bi's forehead and the anxiety in his brows, he asked with concern, "You seem to be in a hurry. Did something happen?"
Wei Bi scratched his head sheepishly: "Actually... I think I'm a little lost."
Hearing this, Monkey immediately patted his chest: "Don't worry, I know Rainbow Beak. He's the living map here and knows every path!" With that, he nimbly leaped up, climbed a tall tree nearby, and quickly found Rainbow Beak resting on the treetop. Monkey told Rainbow Beak about Wei Bi being lost. Rainbow Beak immediately spread his wings, flew to a higher branch, and pointed to a faint path in the distance, telling Monkey: "If Wei Bi takes that path, it will be much shorter than his original route, and he won't get lost easily!"
Following the path pointed out by Rainbow Beak, Wei Bi gradually went deeper into the forest. He heard a noise ahead. Approaching, he saw Yellow Feather, who had a huge beak, and the sharp-eyed Eagle standing on a tree trunk arguing fiercely, while Hong Hong, who disliked hearing others argue, was flapping her wings in displeasure, about to fly away from the scene.
Seeing this, Wei Bi quickly walked up and asked with concern, "What's wrong, everyone? Did something happen?"
It turned out that Yellow Feather, Eagle, and Hong Hong were arguing endlessly about the program content for the Forest Gala. Yellow Feather insisted on singing, while Eagle wanted to play a musical instrument. Neither would give way, which led to the argument.
After listening, Wei Bi sincerely said, "Arguing cannot solve problems. The best way is to communicate well. Since you are performing as a team, it would be best if all three of you presented together! Yellow Feather, your singing is truly excellent. You can be responsible for the gentle vocals, accompanied by Eagle playing a musical instrument as background music, and then Hong Hong, with her graceful dance moves, can dance. This way, you can all utilize your respective strengths and complete a wonderful performance together!"
Yellow Feather, Eagle, and Hong Hong felt enlightened after hearing Wei Bi's suggestion. They recognized each other's strengths and understood the importance of cooperation. So, following Wei Bi's proposal, they happily decided on the performance content through communication.
Continuing his journey in the forest, Wei Bi arrived at a gently flowing small river. He saw a little Goose sitting by the riverbank crying softly, while the tall Elephant beside him seemed helpless, not knowing how to comfort him.
Wei Bi approached and asked, finally understanding Goose's trouble: despite being a goose, he had an inexplicable fear of water and dared not swim. And although Elephant was anxious, he didn't know how to help either.
Wei Bi had an idea and told Elephant, "Elephant, your trunk is long. You can gently suck up a little river water like a hose and then softly spray it around Goose, letting him gradually get used to the feeling of water. I will accompany Goose and walk into the river step by step."
Elephant immediately complied. His long trunk gently sprayed tiny water droplets, like a soft drizzle, surrounding Goose. With Wei Bi's encouragement and company, Goose slowly overcame his fear of water. Wei Bi carried his shoes, guiding Goose step by step. Finally, Goose mustered the courage, took his little steps, and walked into the clear river, beginning his long-awaited first joyous swim.
Continuing along the forest path, Wei Bi arrived at a more open area. He saw Stork, Little Blue, Sword Chicken, and Color Chicken gathered around an old tree, bustling up and down, looking anxious. Approaching, he realized they were playing soccer in two teams, but accidentally, the ball bounced into a tree hole! No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get the ball out.
Wei Bi walked up, saw their worried faces, and suggested, "Why don't you find some buckets, and everyone takes turns fetching water from the river to pour into the tree hole? When the water fills up, the ball will naturally float out." Color Chicken's eyes lit up with sudden understanding: "That's right!" It immediately ran home to fetch a bucket.
Next, Wei Bi, Stork, Little Blue, Sword Chicken, and Color Chicken all worked together, taking turns fetching water and carefully pouring it into the tree hole. As the water level rose, the mischievous soccer ball finally floated up slowly and was successfully retrieved by everyone.
After retrieving the ball, Stork, Little Blue, Sword Chicken, and Color Chicken gathered around Wei Bi, repeatedly thanking him. Sword Chicken observed Wei Bi closely and said, "Wei Bi, you look troubled today. Did something happen?"
Wei Bi then told them about Mei Mei being captured by the Demon King and his own journey to find her. Little Blue thought for a moment and said, "On your way to the Demon Palace, you will pass a bay. If you walk along the shore, it will be a big detour to reach it. But if you can find Dolphin, he can carry you across the bay, which will save a lot of valuable time!" Stork immediately took out a sparkling stone, handed it to Wei Bi, and said, "Dolphin loves shiny things the most. Take this stone to him, and he will definitely be happy to help you!"
Saying goodbye to his friends in the forest, Wei Bi continued his journey. When he walked out of the dense woods, the view suddenly opened up, revealing a clear blue bay before him. However, facing the vast sea, he did not know where to find Dolphin.
Having no choice, Wei Bi walked along the shore of the bay, hoping to run into Dolphin by chance. As he walked, he noticed Octopus hiding behind a protruding rock, quietly looking out at the sea, where Jelly and Crab were playing happily. Octopus looked a bit lonely.
Wei Bi walked over and softly asked Octopus what was wrong. Octopus lowered his head and whispered, "I don't dare to go play with them. I'm afraid they won't like me..."
Wei Bi listened and gently encouraged him, "You haven't taken the first step to try, so how would you know they don't want to play with you?" With that, Wei Bi reached out, gently pulled Octopus, and led him towards the seaside. With Wei Bi's encouragement, Octopus mustered his courage and asked Jelly and Crab in the sea, "C... Can I play with you?" Jelly and Crab were enthusiastic to have a new friend join them and replied, "Yes, of course! Let's play together!"
Soon, Octopus, Jelly, and Crab were hitting it off, playing happily in the clear seawater, their laughter echoing across the bay.
Seeing Octopus successfully become friends with Jelly and Crab, Wei Bi asked, "Does anyone know where Dolphin is? I need his help." Octopus immediately raised his hand and said, "I know! I'll take you!"
Led by Octopus, Wei Bi found Dolphin. Wei Bi gave Dolphin the sparkling stone gifted by Stork and explained his intention, hoping Dolphin could help carry him across the bay to the opposite shore. Seeing the magnificent stone, Dolphin happily nodded and readily agreed: "No problem! I've got this!"
With Dolphin's enthusiastic help, Wei Bi successfully crossed the vast bay and finally arrived at the foot of the tall mountain. It was a splendid grassland here, where various colorful flowers bloomed competitively, forming a beautiful picture. However, this tranquility was broken by a clamor.
Wei Bi followed the sound and saw Thinny and Bee arguing fiercely in the flower bush. It turned out that they had started a dispute over flower ownership while collecting nectar. Both threatened each other, stirring up dust in the flower bush, with buzzing bees and swaying grass. Snail, who was quietly resting there, could not concentrate on his leaf feast due to the argument and could only retreat into his shell helplessly.
Seeing this, Wei Bi gently walked up and said softly, "Thinny and Bee, you are both excellent nectar collectors. However, arguing like this will only waste your precious time, and neither of you will collect any nectar. When the flower season passes, you will truly have nothing. Instead of competing like this, why don't you two cooperate? While the flower season is still here, try to collect as much nectar as possible for winter. Perhaps you will find that cooperation is more interesting than competition!"
Thinny and Bee felt that Wei Bi's words made sense and decided to try cooperating in collecting nectar. Unexpectedly, they quickly discovered that working together and dividing the tasks significantly increased their efficiency compared to working alone; it was faster and easier.
And Snail, who had been unable to eat due to the noise, could finally enjoy his leaf feast in the restored tranquility of the flower bush.
After passing through the plain filled with vibrant flowers, Wei Bi began climbing the mountain, finally reaching the summit where a gloomy Demon Palace stood before his eyes.
He bravely rushed in and finally saw the Demon King trying hard to make Mei Mei, who was sitting on a chair, smile.
"Demon King! Give Mei Mei back to me!" Wei Bi shouted.
The Demon King turned in surprise, saw the breathless Wei Bi, and angrily said, "It's useless, child. I just want a friend, a playmate who will never leave me. Your courage is admirable, but you cannot understand my loneliness."
Wei Bi took a deep breath, turning the enlightenment gained from the stories encountered along the way into strength, and spoke his heart to the Cat Demon King before him.
Wei Bi: "I can understand your loneliness, but kidnapping Mei Mei won't get you a real friend. Because true friendship is not solved by 'power'."
Cat Demon King: "Nonsense! Only power allows me to get what I want!"
Wei Bi: "If you truly have power, why do you have to exhaust yourself trying to make Mei Mei smile? If she's not genuinely happy, you will never get the happiness you desire. Just like Thinny and Bee I saw in the flower bush. They were originally fighting fiercely over nectar, wasting all their time threatening each other. But they later realized that instead of seizing things through competition, they should cooperate and collect nectar together. This way, their efficiency was higher, their harvest greater, and the Snail, who disliked noise, also found quiet. Cooperation brings greater happiness than possession."
Wei Bi: "Or take Octopus, for example. He was afraid of being rejected, so he kept hiding and watching Jelly and Crab play. I just encouraged him, telling him to bravely take the first step, and he made new friends. He didn't need power; he needed courage and someone to push him."
Cat Demon King: "But aren't humans all weak? I am the strongest."
Wei Bi: "Strength does not equal having friends. If I had been preoccupied with my own troubles and lost focus at the start, I wouldn't have helped Monkey pick up things, and I wouldn't have found Rainbow Beak for directions. Friendship is built on mutual help and communication. We don't need to use power to threaten anyone; we only need to use empathy to help those afraid of water, like Goose, or to offer precious stones to help others, like Stork did."
Wei Bi: "Demon King, you used power to capture Mei Mei, which only made her more afraid of you and deepened your loneliness. If you truly want to get rid of loneliness, you shouldn't force with your magic. Instead, you should put down your arrogance, and use a sincere heart to invite and help others. Only then can you gain a true friend who will never leave you."
The Cat Demon King pondered, every word of Wei Bi hitting the lonely and empty corner deep in his heart like a sparkling stone. He had never thought that the problem of 'loneliness' is not solved by 'power'. He looked at Wei Bi's tired but determined face, then at Mei Mei, whose eyes were filled with sadness, though she was not crying.
"Perhaps... you are right." The Demon King finally lowered his head.
The Demon King looked at Wei Bi and Mei Mei and said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Wei Bi, Mei Mei. I was just too afraid to be alone."
Wei Bi and Mei Mei exchanged a glance. Mei Mei stepped forward and gently held the Demon King's hand: "Demon King, you don't have to be lonely. Just keep your Demon Palace clean, and we will come visit and play often!"
"Really?" the Demon King asked, surprised and delighted.
From then on, the Demon King was no longer the lonely and capturing bully. He learned gentleness and respect. Wei Bi and Mei Mei would regularly bring Monkey, Giant Antelope, Goose, Elephant, Jelly, Yellow Feather, Eagle, Hong Hong, Sword Chicken, Dolphin, Rainbow Beak, Color Chicken, Octopus, Thinny, Bee, Snail, Crab, Stork, Little Blue, and all their friends from the forest, sea, and mountain to the Demon Palace for parties.
The Demon King discovered that true happiness comes from treating friends sincerely, not through coercion or forcing others to comply.
